Start Up Managers allow you to choose what program's you want to start when windows boots and what programs you would prefer not to start. A good start up manager is an asset and can be used to stop trojans from starting up on boot.

Auto Startup Detective is a startup manager - tool which helps you to manage efficiently what programs run at Windows startup. Unlike other similar programs, it also detects trojan horse viruses. The EF StartUp Manager allows you a simple handling and complete control of applications which starts with Windows. They can insert, temporarly disable or delete with ease new programs.  Windows StartUp Manager    

 During startup Windows automatically loads many programs into memory. Some of them works in a background, some waits for user action as an icon on the taskbar. All of them uses computer's resources (memory, CPU time...) With WSM you can easily manage all these programs.
